We had a suction type of light bulb changer pole. It always made me nervous that the larger bulbs would not be secure enough from lack of good contact. We dropped one once but luckily on the couch. When I saw this pole I gave it a try. It works well. You have to pull down on the handle part of the pole. That took some getting used to. It opened up well though and made replacing our 4" bulbs in recessed fixtures very easy. Felt better have the bulb secure in the grippers. The pole can extend from 6' to 11" so works well for higher ceiling without having to get out a ladder.

This is very easy to use! I’m 5’2” so this comes in very handy. No more having to use a chair to change the bulbs. The pole is around 6’ but extends even further. The mouth opens up to 5” so you are able to use it on larger bulbs. When closed the mouth is about 2” wide so you wouldn’t be able to use it on the smaller bulbs. You pull on the bottom to open the mouth.

Pros: Compact, Easy to Use, Nice Design

This universal light bulb grabber with an eleven foot pole met all my expiations. It handled flood lights, standard size bulbs, even the mini flood lights. just for kicks I even tried it out to see if a smack appliance light bulb would work. And yes, it did. The contoured fingers worked great in all my recessed light fixtures. And the extendable pole that extends out eleven feet was just awesome.

Absolutely awesome product! If you have 9-10 foot ceilings like we do you need to pull out the ladder every time you need to change a lightbulb. With this product you can stop climbing on ladders to change out simple light bulbs. When the kitchen bulb went bad I thought I will try this changer and see if it worked. It extends to the height I needed and the bulb gripped opens and closes on the bulb making changing simple, easy and in a minute!

This is a very serious light bulb replacement tool! This BULB GRABBER Universal Light Bulb Changer with 11 ft. Pole is easy to extend up to 11 feet. This does not use the cheaper suction cup method that has a hard time dealing with bulbs that have become stuck over the years. This has a claw, operated from the bottom of the pole, that securely grabs the bulb and makes it easy to remove and install bulbs. This is built to last, so this is not just for home use, but designed for use by maintenance workers, janitors, custodians and the like. This is a must have tool for recessed lights in high ceilings.

Bulb Grabber's universal light bulb changer with 11-foot pole does exactly what you expect: Remove and Install light bulbs that are "up there". It was shipped to me, securely packaged inside the box. It did see to me the amount of pressure on the bulb was on the high side, but no bulbs were broken and that tension allowed the bulb to be turned and not slip. Removing a bulb went flawlessly; installing the replacement bulb (first attempt) was another story. After placing the bulb in the changer, I didn't look too carefully to see if the pole was aligned correctly (basically straight up and down) and I screwed the bulb in at an angle and the base snapped off. With the power off, the base was removed. I tried again, using the technique I would use with a hand install: aligning the base into the socket and gently starting to screw it in, then gently backing it out a half turn or so to insure the threads were properly aligned. They were and it worked perfectly. The lesson here is to gently start the screw in process to make sure the threads line up correctly - as you would if you climbed on a ladder and screwed the bulb in by hand. Well made. Glad I have this bulb changer.

Pros: Easy to Use, Nice Design, long reach

The Bulb Grabber is what you need if you have vaulted ceilings in your home. This is very simple to use and works like a charm. The fingers at the end grab hold of any style bulb and it can be opened and closed from either end. The pole extends and locks so that you can reach all your bulbs that need replacing. If you live in a home with ceiling over 20 feet, then you will need a small ladder to make up the difference.

I needed a new bulb remover pole. This is a different type of system and I thought I would give it a try. The Bulb Grabber Universal Light Bulb Changer with 11 ft. Pole is very well made. The directions came with pictures, and were easy to understand. HD Online has a video on the product page which is helpful. I have 12 ft. ceilings in the kitchen with recessed lights. The grabber fingers got around the light ok.. But, the space between the light and the can was so tight the entire fixture came out. It did work on my outdoor floodlights. The grabber fingers secure the light better with this system. My other standard lights are within easy reach. This will work great on any fixture that takes a standard base bulb, and has the space needed.

I work part time at a local church and have had problems removing older bulbs with the old style bulb installer/remover cab be very difficult due to the old style spring design that just slips and does not unscrew. The new all sizes included gets a firm positive grip and easly installs or removes all of the interion size bulbs we use. The pole stores at under 6 feet and extends to 11 feet allowing working at up to 18 plus feet away.

This review is for the Bulb Grabber Universal Light Bulb Changer with 11 ft. Pole. I’m getting to the age where moving vertically is a challenge and, of course, we have tall ceilings. I needed something that would assist with changing a bulb without having to risk a jaunt up the very tall ladder (not to mention having to move the ladder in and out of the garage). There was no user guide or instruction manual included, but there are instructions printed on the bulb changer pole showing how to extend the pole and how to open/close the “fingers”. This is actually more practical than having to refer to a printed manual. Another nice feature is the weighted bottom with rubber feet. This is especially helpful when you have to extend the pole to full height; it makes it a bit more stable. The bulb changer works very easily when grabbing the bulb and unscrewing it but the tricky part is getting the replacement bulb positioned into the socket because you can’t see it very well. Release the “fingers” slowly and make sure the bulb is secure before you move the pole away from the bulb. It’s still a very handy tool, sturdy and fairly simple to use.

I have 15' high ceilings in my garage and can't reach the light bulbs, even with a decent size step ladder. This pole allowed me to safely change the bulbs, while remaining on the ground. The pole easily extends and firmly grasps onto the bulb making changes super easy. A much safer way that climbing up a ladder. While not what it was designed for either, I used this to help hang my Christmas lights in a tree outside and it worked perfectly to hold the strand and place it right where I wanted.
